JP1 Remotes, are a special subset
of remotes manufactured by Universal Electronics Inc. These remotes
are very special in that they have a connector that has been exploited
to allow us to reprogram the remote with a special interface.
By doing this we can add setup codes for newer equipment, so our
remotes will never become obsolete. This exploit also allows easy
production of macros and keymoves to make the remote more user
friendly.
Free software developed by the JP1 community
can make programming a remote a breeze. The JP1 Lookup Tool is
my effort to help the JP1 users find elusive setup codes.
